Basketball Recap: Highland Trojans vs. Hobart Brickies

Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 55-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hobart Brickies. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Brickies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cameron Katz, who posted ten points. That's the most points Katz has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Andy Rogel, who put up six points and five boards.

Aidan Leonard was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds for Hobart. Leonard is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last six games he's played. Ryan Basham was another key player, on his way to 13 points.

Highland's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Hobart, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14.

Coming up, Highland will challenge Calumet New Tech at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th. Calumet New Tech is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season. As for Hobart, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-62 defeat against Merrillville on the 22nd.
