Macksville won the last time they faced St. John, and Diego Esparza did his part to make sure it happened again. The Macksville Mustangs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the St. John Tigers 52-49 thanks to Esparza, who went 13-for-30 on his way to 33 points and six boards. His evening made it 28 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Orion Guevara was another key player, putting up four points and three steals. What's more, he also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024.

Macksville's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. As for St. John, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-8.

Looking ahead, Macksville will take on Kinsley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Macksville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.6 points per game this season. St. John does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
