While Emery's victory against Carbon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Dinos 3-2 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Dinos: they've now won four in a row.

Emery had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 15-25, 26-24, 25-20, 15-13.

Mikyla Truman paced Emery's offense, picking up 12 kills. Truman got some help from Hailee Barnett and her 19 assists. Truman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Carbon lost, don't look at Laycie Gregersen. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and four aces.

Emery now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Carbon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Emery has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against North Sanpete on the 25th. As for Carbon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Manti on the 25th.
