Baseball Recap: Seneca Comes Up Short

Seneca had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 8-19 to make it five. They came up short against the Reed-Custer Comets, falling 17-1. If the Fighting Irish were looking for revenge after losing 10-7 to the Comets when the teams met back in May of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Reed-Custer, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-10. The match marked their most dominant victory of the season.

For Reed-Custer's part, Kaiden Klein looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Landen Robinson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Joe Bembenek was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Seneca didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against St. Bede on the 12th. As for Reed-Custer, they have also already played their next game, a 9-5 loss against St. Joseph-Ogden on the 10th.
