Recap: Westside Seminoles vs. Baldwin Braves
The Westside Seminoles lost against the Baldwin Braves back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Westside fell 63-52 to the Braves. While losing is never fun, Westside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Braves are ranked 32nd).
Despite the loss, Westside still got an impressive performance from Joshua Harden, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chauncey Williams, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and two blocks.
Tremarius Lawrence continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Baldwin, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds. Lawrence is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Karez Demory, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Westside's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Baldwin, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2.
Westside's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th. As for Baldwin, they will be playing at home against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Laurens has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5.
