Basketball Recap: Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons vs. Bradenton Christian Panthers
The Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons lost against the Bradenton Christian Panthers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Saint Stephen's Episcopal was outmatched by the Panthers at home and fell 81-52. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Saint Stephen's Episcopal in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nick Yatros, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Walters, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Saint Stephen's Episcopal has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season. As for Bradenton Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.
Saint Stephen's Episcopal won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Northside Christian is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Falcons a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Bradenton Christian will take on the Ascenders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. IMG Academy Gray will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Panthers are ranked 128th).
