Baseball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Deerfield Academy

Deerfield Academy barely beat Worcester Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Big Green put the hurt on the Hilltoppers with a sharp 13-3 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Big Green, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory (which was Deerfield Academy's fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Worcester Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deerfield Academy will head out to take on Avon Old Farms at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Big Green 3.8, the Beavers 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Worcester Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Dexter Southfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Dexter Southfield's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Worcester Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
