Basketball Recap: South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind Takes a Loss

South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 59-16 loss at the hands of the Ware Shoals Hornets. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-17 back in December of 2024.

Jayce Medlin was his usual excellent self, putting up 14 points and three steals for Ware Shoals. Tyrell Cunningham was another key player, posting ten points.

South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind's record now sits at 0-7. As for Ware Shoals, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-8.

South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Ware Shoals, they and Abbeville will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Abbeville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
