Volleyball Recap: King's Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

King's Academy had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They won by a set and slipped past the Eastside College Prep Panthers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since March 18, 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was King's Academy who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-13, 23-25, 25-15, 22-25, 15-13.

King's Academy was led to victory by David Satorio and Ethan Sjah. Satorio had nine digs and four aces, while Sjah had ten digs and three aces. The dominant performance gave Sjah a new career-high in aces.

King's Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Eastside College Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

King's Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Pioneer on the 15th. As for Eastside College Prep, they will venture away from home to challenge KIPP Esperanza at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
