It was a good run, but Mountainside unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Westview Wildcats by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Mountainside's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Westview, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Mountainside and Westview could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings. The Mavericks (ranked 53rd) will meet Jesuit (ranked sixth) at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Westview will face off against Sprague at 6:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (47 vs. 1).
