Softball Recap: Emery Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Emery can now relate to. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grantsville Cowboys on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Cowboys: they've now lost six in a row.

Bailey Luke was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brielle Tuttle, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Emery's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Grantsville, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 22-6.

Looking ahead, Emery will challenge Carbon at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grantsville, they will square off against Logan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 9.9 runs per game this season.
