Cortez's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dysart Demons, sneaking past 3-2. This was payback for the Colts, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Cortez wouldn't go down easily and took Dysart into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-13, 21-25, 16-25, 16-14.

Cortez's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Dysart, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Cortez is set to face off against their familiar foe Yuma at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Dysart will take on rival Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
