After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Desert Sunrise, Cortez was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Dysart Demons 3-2. For the Colts, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Demons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Cortez wouldn't go down easily and took Dysart into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-13, 21-25, 16-25, 16-14.

Neaveh Ratey and Reese Garza certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ratey had nine digs and one assist, while Garza had 29 digs and one assist. Say Moo also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Cortez's win bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Dysart, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Cortez didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Yuma on the 27th. As for Dysart, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Coronado on the 27th.
