Basketball Game Preview: St. Frances Academy Panthers vs. Riverdale Baptist Crusaders

The St. Frances Academy Panthers and the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. St. Frances Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

St. Frances Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maryland's top teams: Rosedale Christian Academy, who was ranked 15th at the time (St. Frances Academy was ranked eighth). St. Frances Academy claimed a resounding 74-30 win over Rosedale Christian Academy. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Riverdale Baptist has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Pointe Christian Academy National on Friday.

St. Frances Academy pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Riverdale Baptist, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-9.

St. Frances Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Riverdale Baptist in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, but they still walked away with a 63-58 win.
