Basketball Recap: Bear Creek Comes Up Short

Bear Creek was the 48-33 winner over Chatfield when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bear Creek Bears lost 76-56 to the Chatfield Chargers on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bears have suffered against the Chargers since February 3, 2021.

Despite the loss, Bear Creek still got an impressive performance from Elias Pacheco, who went 7 for 10 en route to 19 points.

Chatfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Indiana Hostetler led the charge by going 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points. The dominant performance also gave Hostetler a new career-high in assists (four). Taylor Stange was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Bear Creek has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Chatfield, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.

Bear Creek will venture away from home to challenge Columbine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bear Creek is facing Columbine at the right time seeing as Columbine is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Chatfield has already played their next matchup (against Arvada West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
