Taylor County waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Schley County Wildcats by a score of 36-23. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 26-20 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Leland Holder continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, punching in two rushing scores, while also throwing for 86 yards and a pair of TDs. Those two rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

When it comes to explaining why Schley County lost, don't look at Blake Weldon. Despite the final result, he rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 129 yards on 16 of 26 attempts.

Taylor County's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Schley County, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4.

Coincidentally, Taylor County and Schley County will both be playing Central the next time they take the field. The Vikings will host the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will host them at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th.
