Softball Recap: Westfield's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Westfield dropped their record down to 9-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Randolph Cardinals by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolverines have suffered since April 29th.

Westfield got a big performance out of Charly Mathews, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Reagan Weingart, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

As for Randolph, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-9. They haven't had any issues with Westfield recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

On Randolph's side, Quinn Pence was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Pence a new career-high. Aryana Sears was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

As of now, neither Westfield nor Randolph have any future games scheduled.
