Basketball Recap: Sterlington Wins Going Away Against Benton

It's playoff time, and Sterlington had no trouble coming through when it counted. They strolled past the Benton Tigers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 60-45. The Panthers pushed the score to 51-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Cooper Nelson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8-for-15 en route to 29 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. His evening made it 14 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Crain, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Sterlington and bumps their season record up to 14-17. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Benton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-23.

As of now, neither Sterlington nor Benton have any future games scheduled.
