Softball Recap: Jefferson County's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Jefferson County's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Gadsden County Jaguars 14-13. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Madison Kelly was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Liria Vargas, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Jefferson County's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1. As for Gadsden County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Jefferson County will challenge Wakulla Christian School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gadsden County, they will look to defend their home field on March 5th against Bay at 6:00 p.m.
