Basketball Game Preview: St. Mary's Academy Wildcats vs. Bennett Tigers

Two dominant forwards in Aleena Nauman and Jessica Venneberg are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats face off against the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Mary's Academy is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Jefferson: they outscored them in every quarter. Everything went St. Mary's Academy's way against Jefferson on Thursday as St. Mary's Academy made off with a 58-32 victory. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Nauman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 14 points and seven steals. St. Mary's Academy is 8-2 when Nauman posts three or more steals, but 4-7 otherwise. Avery Anderson was another key player, earning five points and 14 boards.

Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.9 points over those games. Bennett's victory bumped their record up to 14-8.
