Baseball Game Preview: Nucla Mustangs vs. Sierra Grande Panthers

The Nucla Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Sierra Grande Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Nucla and Ignacio, and Ignacio kept the tradition alive. The Mustangs lost 14-2 to the Bobcats on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered since March 20th.

Nucla saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson McCabe, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Sierra Grande entered their game against Sargent on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panthers came up short against the Farmers, falling 13-3. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Nucla's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Sierra Grande, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 5-5.

Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Nucla hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Sierra Grande struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
