Phoenix made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Family Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Spartans put the hurt on the Flames with a sharp 27-14 win on Thursday. The Spartans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Phoenix's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5. As for Family Christian, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Family Christian has already played their next matchup (against Thibodaux), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Phoenix will be paying especially close attention to the Flames' game: after the Flames faces off against the Tigers, they'll take on Phoenix again at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
