Basketball Game Preview: High Point Central Bison vs. Page Pirates

High Point Central is 1-9 against Page since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Bison just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Pirates at 2:30 p.m. High Point Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Page likes a good challenge.

High Point Central is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Montgomery Central: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bison blew the Timberwolves out of the water with a 77-43 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bison had established a 33-point advantage.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Page, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They strolled past Northwest Guilford with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 60-46. The Pirates' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

High Point Central's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Page, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

High Point Central might still be hurting after the 56-31 defeat they got from Page in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Thankfully for the Bison, Jaden Ellis (who shot 63% from the field en route to 15 points and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
