Basketball Recap: Cayuga Comes Up Short

Cayuga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the LaPoynor Flyers. The Wildcats lost against the Flyers in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 72-32 score last time.

Cayuga's loss dropped their record down to 16-10. As for LaPoynor, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-9.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Alba-Golden the next time they take the court. Cayuga will host Alba-Golden at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while LaPoynor will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th.
