Baseball Game Preview: Buena Bulldogs vs. Camarillo Scorpions

The Buena Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Camarillo Scorpions at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Buena will be strutting in after a win while Camarillo will be coming in after a defeat.

While Buena's victory against Fillmore wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Buena skirted past Fillmore 8-7. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Noah Haros looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Trigo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelan Davis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Camarillo lost 12-1 to Crescenta Valley on Tuesday. The Scorpions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Camarillo also got a good showing from Mac Barlow, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Camarillo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Escobar, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Camarillo's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Buena, their record now sits at 6-4.
