Soccer Game Recap: Oak Ridge vs. Edison

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Oak Ridge Trojans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Vikings out 2-1. Given Oak Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Edison is ranked 183rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Oak Ridge was led to victory by the tag-team duo of William Gezi and Arda Askin, who scored both of Oak Ridge's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 14 so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Oak Ridge and bumps their season record up to 11-2-3. As for Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-5-2.

Oak Ridge will take on Pleasant Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edison does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
