Basketball Recap: North Fremont Comes Up Short

North Fremont and Malad squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but North Fremont had to settle for second. They lost to the Malad Dragons on the road by a 49-31 margin. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Dragons are ranked eighth).

North Fremont now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Malad, the victory (which was their 23rd in a row) raised their record to 23-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. North Fremont won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Ririe at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Ririe will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something North Fremont surely won't give up without a fight. As for Malad, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Grangeville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Grangeville will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Malad surely won't give up without a fight.
