Basketball Recap: William Floyd Drops Highest Score of Season Against Smithtown East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask William Floyd). Everything went their way against the Smithtown East Bulls on Saturday as the William Floyd Colonials made off with a 66-46 win. That's more bragging rights for the Colonials, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading William Floyd to victory were Milania Farrow and Javeah Stewart. Farrow posted 19 points and five steals, while Stewart almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine blocks. With that strong performance, Stewart is now averaging an impressive 2.6 blocks per game. Taleah Coppola was another key player, putting up 14 points along with eight assists and three steals.

William Floyd was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

William Floyd's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Smithtown East, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

William Floyd will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Smithtown West at 12:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Smithtown East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
