Baseball Recap: Declo Comes Up Short

Declo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 27-12 to the American Falls Beavers. One positive for the Hornets, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Kyle Bott made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevin Averett, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Even though they lost, Declo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Declo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for American Falls, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-4.

Declo will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Malad at 4:00 p.m. on April 2. As for American Falls, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against South Fremont at 4:00 p.m.
