Softball Recap: South Spencer Comes Up Short

South Spencer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 9-4 to the Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats. The Rebels were not able to make up for their loss to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

South Spencer saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Harris, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Kaylee Schmitt was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

South Spencer's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, South Spencer will be playing at home against Crawford County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Evansville Mater Dei, they will face off against Gibson Southern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
