Baseball Recap: Port St. Lucie Comes Up Short

If Port St. Lucie was feeling good fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Lincoln Park Academy on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Port St. Lucie Jaguars fell 10-5 to the Tradition Prep Pirates on Friday. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Port St. Lucie saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Taylor, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Taylor has posted since back in February of 2024.

Port St. Lucie dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Tradition Prep, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Port St. Lucie will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Melbourne Central Catholic at 3:30 p.m. As for Tradition Prep, they will head out on the road to take on Dwyer at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
