Baseball Recap: Bethel Christian Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Cloudland

Bethel Christian Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Cloudland Highlanders with a sharp 11-2 victory on Monday. The Crusaders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Highlanders, too.

Bethel Christian Academy let Jesse Silver and Logan Hughes run wild. Silver scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Hughes scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Hughes is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Leo Jeronimo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Cloudland is on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Bethel Christian Academy will host IC Imagine at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cloudland, they will take on Happy Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
