Soccer Game Preview: Cardinal vs. Grand Valley

The Cardinal Huskies will take on the Grand Valley Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cardinal has given up an average of 5.8 goals per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cardinal came up short against Bristol on Monday, falling 6-1. While losing is never fun, Cardinal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 463rd, while Bristol are ranked 185th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grand Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Conneaut on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Cardinal dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Grand Valley, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
