Baseball Recap: Niles Notre Dame Dons vs. Saint Viator Lions
Niles Notre Dame had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 8-10-1 to make it five. They fell just short of the Saint Viator Lions by a score of 6-5. The Dons were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Niles Notre Dame got a good showing from Christian Lopez, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits Lopez has allowed over his last four matches.
On the hitting side, Michael Keany made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs. Dominic Holton was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
