Recap: Wilbur Cross Governors vs. Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers
The Wilbur Cross Governors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 49-26 walloping at the hands of Bridgeport Central. Wilbur Cross was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-9.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bridgeport Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kai Clarke, who scored 14 points along with seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Kendrick, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Wilbur Cross' defeat was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for Bridgeport Central, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0.
Wilbur Cross will square off against Hillhouse at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeport Central will be home for the holidays to greet Danbury at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd.
