It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Streetsboro had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 70-55 win over the Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings. Winning may never get old, but the Rockets sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Streetsboro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Batten, who went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 28 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Batten a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Ivory, who posted 13 points and seven assists.
Streetsboro was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They racked up seven more assists than Villa Angela-St. Joseph's also-impressive total of 11.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremiah Martin, who had 11 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Antonio Brown, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 11 points.
Streetsboro pushed their record up to 20-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points over those games.
