Hackett had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Mansfield Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since October 5, 2024.

Hackett had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-19, 29-27.

Michaelyn Freeman paced Hackett's offense, picking up 21 kills. Freeman got some help from Catelyn Edwards and her 31 assists. Edwards was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Hackett's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Mansfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.

Hackett has already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Northside on the 13th. As for Mansfield, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Clarksville at 6:00 p.m.
