Baseball Recap: Warren Comes Up Short

Warren pushed their score to 19 the last time they played Holmes, but on Thursday they couldn't quite do it again. The Warren Warriors fell just short of the Holmes Huskies by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Kevin Gutierrez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Joaquin Guerra was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Warren now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Holmes, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11.
