Volleyball Recap: Westside Takes a Loss

Westside and Daniel squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Westside had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Rams in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.

Westside took Daniel into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 12-25, 22-25, 15-11.

Daniel was led to victory by Emily Gilstrap and Lydia Chasteen. Gilstrap had 28 assists and 16 digs, while Chasteen had three digs and two aces. Chasteen is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Westside's defeat dropped their record down to 22-11-1. As for Daniel, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-8 record this season.

Westside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Daniel, they will head out on the road to face off against Pickens at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
