Baseball Game Preview: Tatum Eagles vs. Diboll Lumberjacks

Tatum hasn't had much luck against Diboll recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tatum Eagles will take on the Diboll Lumberjacks in a tournament on Friday. The last three games Tatum has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Tatum's offense. They fell just short of Garrison by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Tristin Berry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Tatum saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Adcock, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Diboll and Livingston finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Thursday.

Tatum's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. With that tie, Diboll's record moves to 3-1-1.

Tatum couldn't quite finish off Diboll when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can Tatum avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
