Basketball Game Preview: Peabody-Burns Warriors vs. Canton-Galva Eagles

Peabody-Burns is 0-7 against Canton-Galva since February of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Peabody-Burns Warriors are taking a road trip to take on the Canton-Galva Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Peabody-Burns is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 71-26 loss at the hands of Rural Vista [Hope/White City]. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-8.

Despite the loss, Peabody-Burns had strong showings from Jameson Miles, who posted 15 points and six boards, and Aiden Hurst, who had ten points. Miles' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Meanwhile, Canton-Galva won against Wakefield on Saturday with 68 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Canton-Galva blew past Herington, posting a 68-41 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Canton-Galva's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6. As for Peabody-Burns, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Peabody-Burns was dealt a bruising 73-40 loss at the hands of Canton-Galva in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Peabody-Burns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
