Basketball Game Preview: Collins Titans vs. Moore Mustangs

The Collins Titans will square off against the Moore Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Collins is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Anderson County on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Collins was outmatched by Anderson County and fell 80-30. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-18.

Meanwhile, Moore entered their tilt with Southern on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Trojans 54-15. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Trojans are ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Moore pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Collins, their loss dropped their record down to 7-16.

Collins took their win against Moore in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 62-39. Will Collins repeat their success, or does Moore have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
