Softball Recap: Gibsonburg Snags Tenth Win in Last 12 Games

Gibsonburg won the last time they faced Old Fort and things went their way on Thursday too. The Golden Bears blew past the Stockaders 11-1. The Golden Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.

Ava Amor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off nine hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 17 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Ansley Fleming was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Brink, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Gibsonburg has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Old Fort, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
