Basketball Game Preview: Archbold Blue Streaks vs. Springfield Blue Devils

The Archbold Blue Streaks will square off against the Springfield Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Springfield is facing Archbold at the wrong time: Archbold suffered their first home loss of the season on Thursday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell 57-48 to the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Clay, falling 75-47.

Archbold will need focus on slowing down Hannah Schlacter, one of several Springfield players who made an impact when they last played. She dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. Schlacter is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Tessa Troutman, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Springfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Archbold, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4.
