Baseball Game Preview: Temple City Rams vs. Monrovia Wildcats

For the second straight game, Temple City will face off against Monrovia. The Rams are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Temple City has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Monrovia will arrive with eight straight victories.

On Monday, Temple City came up short against Monrovia and fell 6-3.

For Monrovia's part, James Quesenbery tossed a big game, pitching 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Quesenbery has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josh Griffiths, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaias Hernandez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Monrovia pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Temple City, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10-1.
