Volleyball Recap: Canyon Takes a Loss

Canyon lost against Tascosa last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eagles came up short against the Rebels, falling 3-0. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Canyon was not able to win a set, they sure kept things interesting: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-22, 28-26.

Despite the loss, Canyon still got an impressive performance from Laney Jones, who had 20 kills, 12 digs, and two aces. Jones has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more kills the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Aiva Kerr, who had 15 digs.

Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Tascosa, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-8.

Canyon has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Pampa on the 9th. As for Tascosa, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Monterey on the 9th.
