Soccer Recap: St. Mary's Academy Comes Up Short

St. Mary's Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the St. George's Athletes, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, St. Mary's Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 465th, while St. George's are ranked 194th).

St. Mary's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for St. George's, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

St. Mary's Academy will be playing at home against Atlanta Jewish Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's Academy will be up against Atlanta Jewish Academy's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.43 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for St. George's, they will take on Rock Springs Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
