Baseball Recap: Lewiston Wins Going Away Against Oak Hill

After only one run in their last matchup, Lewiston made sure to put some runs up on the board against Oak Hill on Monday. The Blue Devils blew past the Raiders 10-0. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Blue Devils this season.

Lonnie Thomas made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Lewiston let Grady Rowles and Jeffrey Randall run wild. Rowles got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, while Randall got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Lewiston is 2-1 when Randall posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. Spencer Chartier was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The win got Lewiston back to even at 3-3. As for Oak Hill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Lewiston will square off against Messalonskee at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Oak Hill, they will take on Gardiner at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give the Raiders their first taste of in-conference action this season.
