Softball Game Preview: Chesaning Indians vs. Ovid-Elsie Marauders

The Chesaning Indians will head out to challenge the Ovid-Elsie Marauders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Things were looking good for Chesaning after they put the first run on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 7-1 to Durand. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Ovid-Elsie fell victim to Lakeville and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-0 to the Falcons, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Marauders have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Olyvia Coon was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Ovid-Elsie's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15-1. As for Chesaning, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Chesaning took their victory against Ovid-Elsie when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Marauders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
