Softball Recap: Park Comes Up Short

Park extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 20 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-14. They came up short against the Stevensville Yellowjackets, falling 19-4. The Rangers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellowjackets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

As for Stevensville, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-10 record. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Stevensville's part, Addi Drye was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave Drye a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Tan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Park is taking a road trip to take on Corvallis at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Stevensville, they will square off against East Helena at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Vigilantes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.44 runs per game on average), something the Yellowjackets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
